Multi-billion dollar Surmont 2 Project, one of the largest oil sands SAGD (Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage) Projects in Canada. Advised Board members on methods to reduce risk. Successfully minimized disputes and managed risk. When needed reached mutually agreeable settlement of disputes and avoided further escalation. Managed project contracts department.
Implemented Claims Avoidance Procedures company-wide and in particular on billion dollar plus Refinery Project in early stages of FEED.Provided advice on day-to-day Contract Administration activities on projects and change identification and preparation. Prepared claims for multi-billion dollar Oil, Gas & Power Projects, which included detailed preparation of defense against Liquidated Damages; applications for Extensions of Time; applications for prolongation costs and, delay and disruption analysis and assistance with critical path analysis. Regular liaison with Board members, Legal and Senior Management to advise status of claims, effective mitigation strategies and advise on most effective path forward.
